Working with rescues

To achieve our goal of finding loving homes for as many of our pets as possible, the Animal Resource Center relies on partners. We work with local shelters like The Humane Society of Greater Dayton and the SICSA Pet Adoption Center. We also partner with many home- and foster-based rescues both in Ohio and out of state.

The Animal Resource Center always welcomes new rescue partners. It’s only through our combined efforts that we’ll be able to help as many of these pets find their forever homes.

To work with the Animal Resource Center, you’ll need:

  • To be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (or in the documented approval process)
  • Registration with the Ohio Secretary of State as a nonprofit organization (or registered in the state of operation)
  • Both in-state and out-of-state rescues must register as a rescue with the Ohio Department of Agriculture
  • A copy of your most recent IRS 990 filing
  • A list of two people approved to pick up animals with names
  • To follow all laws in the Ohio Revised Code

The Animal Resource Center may contact our rescue partners for help with animal placement. For more information and to apply to be a rescue partner with the Animal Resource Center, see our application packet below or email our Outreach Coordinator.
