Animal Care Crewleader

Ensures the health and safety of dogs in Animal Resource Center’s care through extensive use of problem solving, prevention, and disease mitigation strategies to keep pets and people safe. Advanced level in animal care requiring knowledge of custodial care applicable to animals in order to safely care for sheltered animals. Understands and interprets animal body language; demonstrates safe animal handling and restraint techniques. Performs routine and thorough documentation of care provided, behavioral observations, health concerns, and other related care.

Animal Care Provider / Entry

Ensures the health and safety of dogs in Animal Resource Center’s care through problem solving, prevention, and disease mitigation strategies to keep pets and people safe.   Entry level class in animal care control occupation under close supervision requiring some knowledge of custodial care applicable to animals in order to safely care for sheltered animals. Understands and interprets animal body language; demonstrates safe animal handling and restraint techniques. Performs routine and thorough documentation of care provided, behavioral observations, health concerns, and other related care.

Animal Care Specialist

Ensures the health and safety of Montgomery County through extensive use of investigative, problem-solving, prevention, and mitigation strategies to keep pets and people together. Full performance level in clerical occupation under direction requiring independent analysis, exercise of judgment, and considerable detailed knowledge of assigned area’s policies and procedures and varied and advanced functions of software specific to assigned area in order to perform specialized clerical duties (i.e., performs mathematical computations using software applications, cross references data and information and a variety of other procedures requiring absolute accuracy), requiring a high degree of skill in applying software functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, edit and reformat electronic drafts, and update or revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Requires considerable knowledge of animal control regulations and dispatching operations; and correlating information concerning emergencies or unusual circumstances for the purpose of enforcing Ohio law regarding the control and licensing of dogs.

Veterinarian

As a member of the Clinic Team in the Animal Resource Center, the Animal Resources Clinic Veterinarian will support all medical-related programs, including the County’s Animal Spay/Neuter Clinic and In-House Medical Care; responsible for the management and oversight of independent contractor (hourly rate) Veterinarians and behavior staff; responsible for upholding standards of care and protocols; training skilled staff (Veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, shelter staff, and behavior staff); collaborating on nursing care; providing high level customer service to animal care partners and members of the public; and to perform related work as required.
